Register for second round of solar scheme to cut your bills and emissions
Posted 28/08/2023
How does saving money on energy bills while lowering your carbon emissions sound?
Hertfordshire residents are invited to register for a scheme which can help you do both of these things through the power of solar energy.
From Monday 28 August 2023, if you live in Hertfordshire, you can register to be part of the second round of Solar Together Hertfordshire, a trusted group-buying scheme for solar panels and battery storage.
It is free to register and, once you have applied, there is no obligation to go ahead with an installation. A successful first round in Hertfordshire last year saw more than 13,000 residents apply, with over 9,500 solar panels installed through the scheme across the county.
Solar Together programmes have been running across the UK for six years, helping residents feel confident that they are paying the right price for a high-quality installation from reputable businesses.
We’re working in partnership with Dacorum Borough Council and other local councils in the Hertfordshire Climate Change and Sustainability Partnership, alongside independent experts in group-buying iChoosr, to make the transition to clean energy as easy as possible. The scheme introduces residents to pre-approved installers, with our role limited to promotion of the scheme.
Cllr Adrian England, Portfolio Holder for Climate Change and Deputy Leader at Dacorum Borough Council, said: “I’m really happy that Solar Together is back for a renewable round two – demand is growing. By investing in solar panels, we take the power to tackle climate change into our own hands - our residents will be able to reduce their electricity bills while knowing they are doing their bit to increase renewable power generation and tackle climate change.
“This is a great opportunity for Dacorum residents to catch up on solar, and overtake the other districts of Hertfordshire – sign up and get a good deal on solar panels, and a quality installation, from a trusted supplier.”
Bob Lane OBE, Chair of the Hemel Garden Communities Delivery Board and Hemel Place Board, said: “We are delighted to be supporting the latest Solar Together scheme, after partnering with Dacorum Borough Council and iChoosr on a very successful first phase. Greener and cleaner energy production makes a huge difference in the bid to tackle climate change and as the town grows through the Hemel Garden Communities programme, we want to ensure that both existing residents and new neighbourhoods, are able to take advantage of ways to become more environmentally friendly and sustainable.”
To register for the scheme from 28 August 2023, and for more information, please visit Solar Together Hertfordshire. Registrations will close on Friday 27 October 2023.
