Our Partners and Governance

Hemel Garden Communities has a formal governance structure which involves Dacorum Borough Council, St Albans City and District Council, Hertfordshire County Council, Hertfordshire Local Enterprise Partnership, Hertfordshire Innovation Quarter, Homes England, The Crown Estate and other key landowners. It’s essential to have clear structures and processes for making decisions. This will ensure there is accountability, transparency and responsiveness.

Hemel Garden Communities Delivery Board leads the programme and has an independent chair, Bob Lane OBE.

Dacorum Borough Council

The Borough of Dacorum is composed of the main towns of Hemel Hempstead, Berkhamsted and Tring with a population of just over 150,000. The borough enjoys an excellent location and is within easy reach of London, with the M25 nearby and train journeys taking less than 30 minutes to Euston. The council's vision is that it will work in partnership to create a borough that enables the communities of Dacorum to thrive and prosper.

St Albans City and District Council is the local authority for the district of St Albans, an area serving over 140,000 people.
